This application case features the implementation of LG CNS’s Cross Belt Sorter.

The LG CNS Cross Belt Sorter is a high-end, high-performance system incorporating proprietary technologies such as Automatic Recovery and Vision-based Re-Centering. Developed entirely with domestic Korean technology, it stands as a premier solution for high-speed logistics.

The Cross Belt Sorter consists of a chain of independently operated short conveyor belt carriers mounted transversely along a main track. This loop-type system rotates at high speeds, discharging goods to the left or right at their designated destinations. Notably, it holds the world’s first innovation record for food material sorting centers, proving its ability to stably transport and sort not only standard boxes but also various types of irregular (non-standard) goods with high performance and safety.

Workflow

STEP 1.Goods merge at ultra-high speeds in the Induction Section using inverter synchronous control.
STEP 2.Goods are transported and sorted along the Track and Cart Sections.. If a mis-sorted item is detected, the Automatic Recovery process is initiated.
STEP 3.Sorted goods are discharged through the Chute Section.

Results

Key Benefits
Stable and reliable 24/7 operation. Significantly higher productivity compared to manual processes. Minimized sorting errors through automatic recovery. Capability to handle a wide range of product types (standard and irregular).
Client Feedback
By automating the sorting of irregular food items—such as green onions, cabbage, and rice sacks—that were previously handled 100% manually, we achieved a world-first in high-performance food logistics, increasing per-person productivity by 30%.

The Omron AMR Logistics Robot Recognizes Different Product Types and Even Handle Automated Retrieval

Project Overview This implementation case is designed to utilize Omron AMR Logistics robots to automatically retrieve and transport individual products weighing approximately 20–30kg. Previously, workers had to manually move heavy items, leading to a high risk of musculoskeletal disorders and decreased logistics efficiency due to misclassification issues arising from repetitive manual labor. The Omron AMR was introduced to solve these problems and is configured to stably transport products of various sizes and shapes. The AMR's top module is equipped with photo sensors to detect the presence of products and includes a distance setting function to ensure the safe and smooth transport of goods. Project Background & Objectives The objective of this project is to reduce the physical burden on workers and improve the accuracy of logistics processes by minimizing misclassifications that occur during repetitive tasks. By introducing automation through AMRs, the primary goals of this project are: ① protecting the health and safety of workers, ② improving the accuracy and speed of logistics flow, and ③ optimizing initial investment costs while reducing maintenance expenses.

Logistics Automation System using OAGV - CL100

Are you burdened by the high cost of logistics robots for moving items weighing 1 to 20kg? Between massive equipment investments and ongoing maintenance, the barriers to entry can be high. Omorobot offers a solution with our OAGV (DIY-type Logistics Robot)—an affordable, simple, and highly reliable system. The OAGV is a modular logistics robot assembled using controllers and sensors designed and manufactured in-house by Omorobot, drawing from extensive robot development experience. The standard platform can carry up to 150kg and navigates by following reflective tape on the floor, using credit-card-sized tags to identify specific locations for transport or return. It is ideal for transporting rectangular loads like plastic (PP, PE) or cardboard boxes (up to 650mm x 550mm), making it perfect for facilities requiring repetitive transport of low-to-medium loads.

Omron AMR Logistics Robot Successfully Automates Raw Material Transport to Boost Operational Efficiency

Project Overview This implementation case features a large-scale circular raw material transport solution utilizing Omron AMR Logistics robots. Previously, raw material transport involved workers manually rolling large circular containers, which created issues with fatigue and efficiency, necessitating an automation solution. This project aimed to automate the movement of raw materials by introducing Omron AMR Logistics robots, thereby reducing worker burden and significantly improving operational efficiency. Project Background & Objectives When raw materials arrived in large containers, the manual transport process by workers involved high labor intensity and the risk of injury. Furthermore, productivity decreased due to time consumption and operational imbalances. The objective of this project is to implement an AMR-based automation solution to resolve these issues and achieve efficient logistics operations.
