Process Overview

This solution automates button click testing for assembled automotive switch boxes using two Epson C4 robots.

Fixed-position tests are performed using dedicated equipment, while model-dependent variable positions are handled by articulated robots, enabling short takt time and flexible operation.

Components

Robot
  • EPSON C4 (x2)

  • 6-axis articulated robot

  • Payload: 4 kg

  • Max reach: 600 mm

  • Weight: 27 kg

  • Repeatability: ±0.02 mm

Peripherals
  • 2-axis linear actuator

  • Pneumatic gripper

  • Part transfer jig

  • Part transfer linear track

Workflow

STEP 1.Part input
STEP 2.Move to test position
STEP 3.Button click test by articulated robot
STEP 4.Transfer part to next test process
STEP 5.Secondary test using 2-axis linear actuator
STEP 6.Discharge after testing

Features

Precise and high-speed operation

  • Enables precise operations using an industrial robot with high repeatability

  • Performs fast motion with a maximum joint speed of 720 deg/s, minimizing takt time

  • Reduces takt time per process by applying two articulated robots and separating test processes

Minimized installation and workspace footprint

  • Minimizes installation and operating space thanks to the robot’s compact form factor

Flexibility for model changes

  • Supports flexible 대응 for model changes and multiple product variants by applying a tool changer

Deburring Robot Automation: Burr Removal on Ibarri Parts — Seriously This Easy?! 😮

A robotic deburring system that automatically removes burrs (BURR) generated on the machined surfaces of nickel parts applied to Honda Accord vehicles using two robots. Collaboration between a positioning robot and a deburring robot. For areas where the deburring tool cannot access, a dedicated deburring device is configured to fully perform deburring on complex-shaped machined surfaces. Integrated with the machining line to implement full-process automation, including deburring, washing, inspection, rust prevention, and packaging.
