This palletizing automation solution utilizes the ABB IRB660, a dedicated palletizing robot, to automatically stack six heavy beverage boxes (approx. 30kg) at once onto a pallet.

The system performs accurate stacking tasks in a short amount of time, taking less than 3 minutes to stack 9 layers of 12 boxes each (total of 108 boxes).

Components

Robot
  • Robot: ABB IRB 660

    • 4-axis articulated robot, payload 180kg, repeatability ±0.05mm, reach 3,150mm, weight 1,750kg.

Workflow

STEP 1.Pallet Feeding: A pallet is fed into the system.
STEP 2.Workpiece Feeding: Beverage boxes are fed into the system.
STEP 3.Alignment: The positions of the workpieces are aligned.
STEP 4.Picking: Six boxes are picked simultaneously.
STEP 5.Unloading: The boxes are unloaded onto the pallet in alternating patterns for each layer.
STEP 6.Discharge: Once 9 layers are stacked, the pallet is discharged.

Recommended Use Cases

Fish Cake Sorting & Stacking with NACHI MZ07L & Vision Tracking

Fish Cake Sorting & Stacking with NACHI MZ07L & Vision Tracking

This automation solution utilizes twelve NACHI MZ07L robots and advanced vision tracking technology to stack fish cake products into plastic boxes. Even with irregular-shaped products like fish cakes, the system accurately recognizes the position of items moving on the conveyor and performs high-speed picking and placing into individual containers.

All-in-One Pharmaceutical Packaging & Palletizing with Triple UR10s

All-in-One Pharmaceutical Packaging & Palletizing with Triple UR10s

This automated palletizing solution utilizes three Universal Robots UR10 units to automate the process of incasing pharmaceutical finished products (cartons) into paper boxes, followed by final palletizing. By integrating the entire cycle—from box erecting and packing to weight inspection—into a single continuous flow, the system minimizes idle time and significantly boosts overall productivity.

Palletizing Automation using Epson VT6L & Range Extender

Palletizing Automation using Epson VT6L & Range Extender

This solution automates the process of packing products into boxes and subsequently palletizing them by integrating Epson's VT6L 6-axis robot, Epson's T6 SCARA robot, and Vention's Range Extender with MachineMotion controller. The Epson T6 SCARA robot efficiently handles the high-speed task of transferring products into boxes. Meanwhile, the Epson VT6L 6-axis robot, mounted on Vention's Range Extender, performs palletizing across a significantly expanded workspace. This combination allows for a seamless transition from primary packaging to end-of-line palletizing within a single automated cell.
