Process Overview

This assembly automation solution uses a YUSHIN take-out robot (SCⅡ-150) to automate the process of insert-molding a steel plate into a plastic injection-molded part during production. By automating both the insert-loading operation and the downstream inspection process, the system minimizes control points while improving overall productivity.

Workflow

STEP 1.Singulate and feed two steel plates at a time via the bowl feeder
STEP 2.Pick two steel plates per cycle and place them into the 8-position loading jig
STEP 3.Pick a set of eight steel plates and transfer them to the injection molding machine
STEP 4.Take out the molded part and load the steel plates
STEP 5.Discharge the finished product via the outfeed conveyor.

Smartphone Sorting & Stacking using UR5 and Linear Track

This automated sorting and storage solution utilizes a Universal Robots UR5 collaborative robot mounted on a Linear Track (7th axis) to perform high-precision handling of smartphones. By integrating 2D Vision, the system identifies the type and position of items arriving via conveyor. The 6-axis articulated robot then uses an electric gripper to sort and stack these items into specific locations. Conversely, when a retrieval command is received, the robot can pick the required items from the storage rack and move them to the discharge position. The linear track allows the robot to cover a significantly wider workspace, making it ideal for comprehensive inbound/outbound inventory management.
