Process Overview

International Food Chowon Nongwon Yangjeong Branch, located in Busan, is a large-scale food service venue with a total area of approximately 900 pyeong (2 floors)

It is a space where floor cleanliness management across broad traffic lines, including the lobby, entrance, restaurant interior, and hallways, is crucial. To reduce the burden of repetitive manual cleaning and maintain stable cleanliness even during operating hours, this store introduced the commercial cleaning robot Phantas through Bigwave Robotics (Marosol). 

Phantas is an autonomous driving-based commercial cleaning robot capable of efficiently covering large areas. It automated the floor cleaning of the approximately 900-pyeong space through path settings tailored to the store's structure. 

Specifically, it was designed to allow continuous cleaning with a single robot, ranging from areas with high external pollutant inflow like the lobby and entrance to spaces with long customer stay times such as the restaurant interior and hallways

Additionally, by applying an automatic charging station, an unmanned cleaning cycle consisting of departure → cleaning → return → automatic charging was established, enabling stable maintenance operations without the need for constant on-site management personnel.


Project Background and Objectives 

Due to the nature of being a large food service venue, International Food Chowon Nongwon Yangjeong Branch faced the following operational concerns:

  • Floor contamination accumulates quickly due to high traffic from customers and staff.

  • Repetitive and excessive workloads occur when managing a 900-pyeong area across 2 floors with manual labor alone.

  • Concerns about interfering with customer traffic when operating hours and cleaning times overlap.

  • Limitations in deploying additional personnel despite the importance of cleanliness levels.

  • Lack of criteria to objectively verify and manage cleaning results.

Accordingly, there was a need for an automation solution that could continuously maintain cleanliness without disrupting the business environment, rather than simply being "equipment that replaces cleaning."

Client Feedback
Previously, employees had to handle floor cleaning manually, but since the introduction of the robots, the burden of maintenance has been significantly reduced. We are satisfied that the robots can clean even narrow spaces, such as between tables, without any issues. In particular, management has become much easier as we can check results such as cleaning areas and time numerically through the SOLlink app, and immediately monitor and respond to battery levels, location, and error status remotely.

We conducted a demonstration of the VC40 robotic vacuum cleaner at a large indoor climbing center spanning 640 pyeong. The climbing center features various flooring materials, including short-pile carpets and hardwood flooring in the cafeteria area, and frequently experiences floor contamination due to chalk dust, dirt, and hair. In particular, due to the nature of climbing activities, chalk dust gets on the hands and penetrates deep into the carpets, making it difficult to completely remove with conventional Cleaning Robot methods. There were physical limitations to manually Cleaning Robot such a vast space every day, so the VC40 robotic vacuum cleaner was introduced to address this issue. The VC40 automatically performs Cleaning Robot tasks during the early morning hours after closing time, significantly improving the efficiency of floor maintenance management.
