Process Overview

Big Wave Robotics (Marosol) introduced the cleaning robot Phantas and the guide robot Fome to Miryang Elementary School. This project was implemented to improve hygiene management within the school and enhance visitor convenience.

Phantas utilizes autonomous driving capabilities and high-performance sensors to automatically clean school hallways, classrooms, and common areas. This reduces the workload of cleaning personnel and significantly improves efficiency relative to cleaning time. Due to the limited number of cleaning personnel, there were previously instances where cleaning management was insufficient or work hours were restricted; however, since the introduction of the robot, satisfaction has increased for both workers and administrators.

The Guide robot Fome plays the role of guiding and explaining the school interior to visitors. School operational efficiency has increased as it is now possible to provide information on the location of major facilities and events without the assistance of the administrative office or school staff.

Project Background and Objective

Miryang Elementary School was experiencing difficulties in hygiene management and responding to visitors while performing cleaning and maintenance tasks with limited personnel. This project was launched to resolve these issues and provide a pleasant environment for both students and staff.

In particular, the introduction of the Phantas Cleaning Robot has the following objectives.

Maximizing Cleaning efficiency – Unmanned cleaning is possible through the use of autonomous driving, cameras, and sensors, and overall cleaning quality is improved through division of labor with cleaning personnel.
Improvement of working environment – Reduces physical burden on cleaning personnel and replaces repetitive, high-intensity work
Establishment of a Smart Management System – With remote control utilizing SOLlink, administrators can monitor and control cleaning status anytime, anywhere.

In addition, the introduction of the Guide robot Fome has enabled the school to provide professional and friendly service to visitors and contributed to strengthening the image of a smart campus as an educational institution.

STEP 1.	Select a designated Cleaning zone
STEP 2.	Set the simple cleaning mode (wet)
STEP 3.	Start cleaning
STEP 4.	Return to the charging station after work
STEP 5.	Cleaning the designated zone (A) is completed
STEP 6.	Move directly to zone B
STEP 7.	Cleaning the designated zone (B) is completed
STEP 8.	Move directly to the charging station in zone A and return

The Phantas cleaning robot is equipped with high obstacle recognition capabilities that allow it to move while precisely avoiding between restaurant tables and chairs, demonstrating stable driving and cleaning performance in real-world environments. In addition, operational efficiency has been significantly improved through automatic charging stations that eliminate the need for manual charging. Thanks to this, robots can charge themselves without the need for additional personnel, enabling continuous 24-hour operation and minimizing the waste of management resources. Above all, the improvement in the workers' working environment was remarkable. As robots took over repetitive and physically demanding Cleaning Robot tasks, worker fatigue was reduced, leading to increased job continuity. At the same time, an environment was created that allowed workers to focus more on infection control and safety management tasks that require direct human intervention.
Client Feedback	Since its introduction, School officials have evaluated that the robot's continuous cleaning has created an image of a clean and well-managed school. In particular, impressive results emerged during the cleaning performance verification process. Although the floor appeared clean on the surface, the water collected in the robot's wastewater tank was highly murky, clearly proving the Cleaning Robot effectiveness. This confirmed that the robot effectively removes even invisible dust and contaminants. In addition, we received feedback that the reports provided through the SOLlink app are very useful. The reports record specific data such as cleaning areas and time, allowing for the systematic planning of schedule tables based on this information. The school said, "We are satisfied because we can manage cleaning objectively through quantified results."
