100% Real Review of Robot Education Services (feat. Professor from Korea Polytechnic University)
Robot Education: What if You Know It’s Necessary but Hard to Execute?
As robots emerge as the center of future industries, educational institutions are striving to nurture talent through robot education. π Recently, educational institutions have been rapidly changing their learning environments by introducing the latest robot technology.
Among them, Gangneung Campus of Korea Polytechnic University has taken a step forward by introducing Rainbow Robotics collaborative robots to provide students with practice-oriented education. In this process, through Bigwave Robotics' Easy Care service, we provided systematic support ranging from practical education and utilization to more than just robot installation.
A Bigwave Robotics expert is educating a professor at Korea Polytechnic University on how to use collaborative robots.
It is said that the professors at the Gangneung Campus of Korea Polytechnic University experienced the same common concerns that many educational institutions face after introducing robots. "How to utilize it after installation?" "How to provide students with practice-based robot education?"
To solve these concerns, Bigwave Robotics provides customized robot education services, including ROS usage, PLC control, and SLAM usage.
The professor at the Gangneung Campus of Korea Polytechnic University, who was interviewed this time, said that thanks to Bigwave Robotics' education and support, it was a great help for students to learn practical robot technology. Now, let's take a closer look at the actual case through the professor's interview. π

Q1. Hello, please introduce yourself briefly.
A. Hello. I am Professor Choi Seok-im, the head of the Department of Industrial Safety ICT at Korea Polytechnic University Gangneung Campus. I conduct practical and theoretical classes for students, centering on automation systems and robot technology. In particular, I am continuously introducing new attempts for future technology education tailored to the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Q2. What was the motivation for introducing collaborative robots at Korea Polytechnic University?
A. Among the various types of equipment used in industrial sites, robots are used a lot. Since we need to learn technology for robots and operate them safely, I introduced them with the idea of incorporating robots into lectures. With the introduction of this Rainbow Robotics collaborative robot, I expect students to be able to handle technology they only encountered in theory and gain practical hands-on experience.
Q3. Were there any difficulties or concerns you felt during the robot introduction process?
A. In the process of selecting the robot to be introduced, I had many concerns while comparing the specifications and prices of various products. And I also worried about whether the robot could be utilized well in the actual educational field after its introduction. Since simply having the equipment does not mean an environment is created where students can fully utilize it, I had many concerns about the robot installation, initial settings, and the subsequent configuration of the educational program.

Q4. Is there a reason why you chose Bigwave Robotics?
A. What we carefully consider are the specifications and price. And there are many parts where we need to receive education after purchase, but I selected Bigwave Robotics because they provide customized robot education services including ROS usage, PLC control, and SLAM usage.
In particular, it was impressive that they systematically supported the entire process from installation to teaching and after-sales management. To actually utilize robots in an educational setting, the initial settings and teaching process are very important, and I could trust Bigwave Robotics because they have expertise in this area.
Q5. Which of Bigwave Robotics' services was the most helpful?
A. Due to the nature of our classroom, we lacked space to install the robot, so we had to install it on top of existing desks. I worried a lot about how to install it, but Bigwave Robotics' robot experts helped a lot by designing it so that the robot could be installed with only a slight change in position.
In addition, they gave specific advice on how faculty and students should utilize the practical environment, and it was very beneficial to receive practical know-how on robot teaching. Thanks to this, a foundation was laid so that even students encountering robots for the first time could easily understand and use them.
Q6. I would like to hear your thoughts on the direction of cooperation between educational institutions and robot solution companies in the future.
A. From the perspective of teaching students, if we first receive education from a robot solution company like Bigwave Robotics, we will be able to teach students at a high level. I hope that institutions and robot solution companies can cooperate by focusing on educational curriculum development and long-term technical support, beyond a relationship of simply providing and using equipment.
To this end, if robot solution companies continuously share technology trends and propose customized education programs tailored to the characteristics of the school, I believe both students and faculty will be able to achieve greater results.
Today, we shared the interview conducted with the professor of Korea Polytechnic University Gangneung Campus. Bigwave Robotics does not stop at simply solving problems but is striving for sustainable development together with educational institutions. πͺ By reflecting the latest robot technology trends in the curriculum, we are helping students naturally adapt to the changing industrial environment. We are always contemplating and providing solutions so that robots can establish themselves as important learning tools to cultivate students' creativity and practical skills beyond simple technical tools.
The successful cooperation with the Gangneung Campus is a case that clearly shows Marosol's efforts. We intend to continue contributing to setting new standards for future robot education through long-term partnerships with educational institutions.
Bigwave Robotics plans to go beyond simply installing robots and develop teaching programs linked to practice, while expanding customized education reflecting the latest technology trends.
