Sometimes when walking down the street, you might have seen bright lights flashing from places like construction sites. Such welding tasks are so dangerous that they must be performed while meticulously wearing safety gear.

When it comes to these dangerous tasks, something always appears like a shooting star to save the day: Robots! Reflecting everyone's concerns and wishes, welding robots have already been utilized in the field for a long time.

From aluminum spot welding for car parts to arc welding that requires experts! Introducing the "Good at Everything" welding robot series, which now even excels at welding. 😎

 1. Aluminum Spot Welding for Automotive Parts Using KUKA KR120

This application case utilizes the KUKA KR120 robot to perform aluminum spot welding on automobile parts faster and from multiple angles. In the attached video, you can see this giant robot—much larger than a human—moving meticulously here and there to carry out the welding task.

This massive KUKA KR120 is a 6-axis articulated robot, a high-precision and high-speed industrial robot widely used in various fields. It quickly and precisely welds products with very complex shapes, and the resulting increase in productivity and quality is a bonus! 😉

Looking closely, you can see that the aluminum car parts the robot is welding have complex curved shapes. Even for products with such shapes, stable aluminum welding is possible because it can weld from various angles.

Furthermore, if you use a dedicated welding package, you can install and operate it very reliably and sturdily without any worries! 😎 This has allowed for a reduction in installation and teaching time. (Because time is money!)

 2. Arc Welding using Rainbow RB-5

※ The images used in the content below are examples of ARC teaching using Rainbow Robotics' Welding robot WelSystem RB at JCT Co., Ltd.

This case is an arc welding example using the Rainbow RB-5 WelSystem welding collaborative robot.

As with other welding tasks, particularly in the case of Arc (ARC) welding*, quality deviation occurs significantly depending on the worker's skill level. Moreover, because the working environment is harsh, the reality is that it is not easy to secure skilled personnel.

Arc Welding : Arc Welding is a metallurgical joining method in which an arc is generated by passing an alternating or direct current voltage between a welding rod and a base metal, and the welding rod and base metal are joined by melting the arc heat (about 6000°C) generated at that time.

By utilizing this robot, unskilled workers can perform the task of feeding or discharging workpieces at the workstation, while the robot performs the actual welding task critical for quality control. Is this what they call a "win-win" situation for everyone? 😇

Thanks to the distribution of labor between the worker and the robot, the robot performs tasks requiring consistent quality and skill, while the human worker handles the input/output of workpieces, simultaneously improving work efficiency and product quality. 👍

Also, the ease of task teaching is noteworthy. By utilizing the direct teaching method, you can move the robot arm directly on-site to teach it. Even if the model changes, additional teaching is possible within 10 minutes! (I feel like even I could do it! 🙋‍♀️)

In addition, by using a tablet-style teaching pendant based on Android, you can easily download and use apps, making it accessible even to non-experts without specific knowledge of robots.

Because it utilizes a compact and lightweight small collaborative robot, it moves efficiently even in narrow spaces, enhancing space utilization. Moreover, it boasts a high IP rating (IP66), which prevents parts from being damaged due to harsh environmental conditions, making it a truly versatile welding robot. 😊

Wait, there's more! (Drumroll)

The Rainbow Robotics RB-5 "WelSystem" used in this arc welding case can be purchased at a 10% discount from the base price of approximately 37 million KRW if you participate in a group purchase through Marosol! You can't miss this, right? 😉
