Thoroughly Cleaning Even Narrow Spaces: Dry Cleaning Robot Whiz
Dry Cleaning Robot / Office Cleaning / Autonomous Driving / SoftBank
Hello, I'm Pengbok! 🐧 As summer approaches—a season when smells get worse if you don't clean on time—we are seeing a surge in inquiries about cleaning robots.
Actually, the view count for last week's content comparing the Avidbots Neo 2 (wet cleaning) and the Ecobot Sweeper 111 (dry cleaning) was incredible! (So proud)

Today, rather than a large-scale industrial cleaner, I want to introduce a cleaning robot perfectly suited for indoor use. It’s the flagship cleaning robot from SoftBank Robotics: Whiz.
With over 300 units sold and currently working hard in more than 500 locations, Whiz has officially launched on Marosol. Shall we take a closer look at this cleaning ace with Marosol robot expert, Brian?
Q. Brian, compared to the cleaning robots we’ve discussed so far, Whiz is noticeably smaller!
A. That's right, Pengbok. Whiz is a cleaning robot that truly shines in indoor spaces—especially offices with lots of furniture or hotels with narrow corridors. Because of its compact size, it can meticulously clean areas that large cleaning robots struggle to reach.
Q. With a size like Whiz, it could even clean our office! I heard that while it's small, its cleaning capability is enormous.
A. Exactly. The HEPA filter installed in Whiz can capture not only pollen and house dust but also the COVID-19 virus. According to a study conducted across 116 locations, while cleaning with a standard vacuum reduced residues and microorganisms by an average of 46.6%, using Whiz resulted in a significant reduction of 71.95%. As a result, it suctions 25.35% more microorganisms and residues than a regular vacuum, drastically improving the cleanliness of both the floor and the air.
Q. The cleaning efficiency has definitely improved! Are there any special features in Whiz’s cleaning method?
A. There is a brush mounted on the bottom of Whiz. It cleans by shaking out dust from floors or carpets with the brush while simultaneously suctioning it, ensuring a thorough cleaning.
Q. It’s definitely living up to its reputation as an ace. However, I heard many people worry that the operating method might be difficult before introducing it.
A. Don't worry. Whiz is one of the easiest cleaning robots to use that I've ever seen. First, you attach a Home Location Code to the start and end points of the cleaning area. Then, you simply hold the handle and walk the path you want to clean—and the route setting is finished! Whiz can now clean that area on its own. It has an excellent memory, so it can handle multiple set areas with ease. Also, in places like meeting rooms or executive offices where silence is required, you can set it to pass through with the cleaning mode turned off to maintain a quiet environment.
Q. Wow, it’s so simple that anyone could use it. One more concern: Whiz operates in places with many people and objects. Is it safe?
A. Of course. Whiz is equipped with various sensors, including LiDAR, 3D cameras, sensor-embedded bumpers, and wheel contact sensors, allowing it to safely navigate around people and objects. It can even detect sudden stairs or glass, so it can clean safely without you having to set "no-go zones" separately.
Q. It seems flawless! Please tell us more about the specifications.
A. Whiz can clean for 3 hours on a single battery. It can clean an area roughly the size of one basketball court per hour, meaning one battery can cover an area equivalent to three basketball courts—that’s incredible efficiency. Its maximum speed is 1.8 km/h (0.5 m/sec), and it weighs about 35 kg with the battery included. Compared to other cleaning robots, it’s very light!
🐧: With a size like Whiz, I could even use it at my house! 👱: When you move, I’ll buy it for you as a housewarming gift, Pengbok! 😉
