Sundae Sillok / Hyundai Robotics / Keenon T5 / Interview

Since the end of social distancing, the demand for dining out has exploded, and as the preference for non-face-to-face and ultra-short-term jobs has increased, more and more workers in the restaurant industry are suffering from labor shortages. To overcome this, the supply of serving robots is expanding, centered on the food service industry.

However, with many types of serving robots available, it may have been difficult to find the one that fits your store. So today, I'm going to deliver some very interesting information through an interview with the manager of Sundae Sillok, who introduced the Hyundai Keenon T5 through Marosol!

Shall we listen to the manager's tempting interview together? 😎

Q. Hello, Manager. Sundae Sillok is famous as a gourmet restaurant, but for those who might not know, please give us a brief introduction.

Our Sundae Sillok Daehangno main branch opened in 2011. We are the main branch and currently operate 15 direct and franchise stores together. We also do delivery, so our restaurants are running very busily.

Q. Was there a specific motivation for introducing a serving robot at Sundae Sillok?

All self-employed people are the same, but everyone struggled because of COVID-19. Labor wasn't being found, and while customers decreased, it wasn't a situation where we could increase labor costs. In that situation, I saw a lot of serving robot advertisements on TV. People who actually used them said they were good, so I called several places and ended up meeting Marosol.

Q. Is there a reason you chose Marosol among various serving robot companies?

I put Marosol as my first choice because there were many diverse reviews. Everyone looks at reviews a lot when buying something. Seeing which serving robots were being used in which restaurants through Marosol reviews, and seeing owners of soup-based restaurants like ours using serving robots, I made up my mind to introduce one through Marosol. After that, I had a phone consultation, and they said a serving robot could be used in our store, so we introduced it immediately.

Q. If you had to pick just one thing you liked most about using Marosol, what would it be?

To be honest, our store floor is not smooth. Since it's not leveled, other companies only said, "It might be dangerous because it rattles." However, in the case of Marosol, they said, "We will supplement it somehow and help you as much as possible so it doesn't rattle," which gave me a lot of trust.

And after the first mapping was finished, I got ambitious and kept requesting modifications in the middle. It was hot and the moving distance must have been significant, but they worked meticulously and kindly every time they came, so I liked that part very much.

Q. If you were to give a score to the Hyundai Robotics Keenon T5 you introduced, how many points would you give?

I would like to give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. The reason is that it's much better than I thought; there's little rattling, and the A/S is fast. So, if someone told me they were considering introducing a serving robot, I would actively recommend the Hyundai Keenon T5.

Q. Lastly, please say a word to other owners who are considering introducing a serving robot.

To be honest, not all self-employed people or people who deal with customers are cheerful or extroverted. There are people who choose self-employment out of necessity for a living, and there are those who find it difficult to respond to and greet every single customer. I've seen many employees with that kind of personality as well. Since the serving robot takes care of those points and does the work of more than one person, I would like to actively encourage the introduction of serving robots in terms of efficiency.

There are many one-person restaurants these days. Although it's not like their own alter ego, I think one-person owners will receive great help if they introduce a serving robot that handles assigned tasks efficiently. Cheers to all the self-employed people in Korea!

Today, we conducted an interview with the manager of Sundae Sillok regarding the introduction of the serving robot Hyundai Keenon T5. There must be a reason why the manager, who has used the serving robot himself, recommends it, right? A reliable serving robot that does the work of more than one person—Marosol can definitely handle everything from recommending the serving robot perfect for your store to its introduction.
