The Exclusive Serving Robot for PC cafes, FORMER

Hello everyone! It’s Pengbok, currently deep in my gaming era. 🐧 Technology is so advanced these days that mobile games are incredible, but I’ve actually fallen back in love with PC games... so I’ve been clocking in at the PC cafe quite often after work. (Best work-life balance ever, right? 😉)

When you're mesmerized by the glowing lights of the computer and keyboard, before you know it, your stomach starts growling. That's when you use the PC cafe's food ordering system!

If you thought that the food at PC cafes was limited to things like cup noodles, you are mistaken.

If you thought PC cafe food was just instant noodles, you're mistaken. These tasty meals satisfy hungry gamers and have become a major revenue source for owners. But there was one big problem: Serving!

When multiple orders flood in, part-timers are too busy cooking to handle serving and payments. 😢 While it would be nice if customers picked it up themselves, the nature of a PC cafe means food really needs to be delivered right to their seats so they don't have to stop their game.

That’s why this robot exists! It’s a "mini-me" serving robot developed specifically for PC cafes. ☺️

Isn't that little face on the screen adorable? Let's find out with Brian how this differs from the standard restaurant robots we've looked at before.

 Jet Interview

Q. Hello Brian! Last time we talked about general restaurant robots, but today we’re focusing on one made specifically for PC cafes.

Hi Pengbok! I used to pull all-nighters at PC cafes back when I was obsessed with StarCraft. haha. It’s amazing to see serving robots in PC cafes now.

Q. I know, right? Please give us a brief overview of this PC cafe serving robot solution.

This is an untact serving automation solution using ROAS's mobile robot, FORMER. It can safely deliver food to designated customers even in cramped indoor environments.

Especially since customers order from their seats, it’s a perfect non-face-to-face service for times when social distancing is important.

Q. I heard that a rental service is available. Many small business owners find the cost of introducing robot services a bit overwhelming...

Exactly. Rental is a huge advantage. The estimated purchase price is quite affordable in the 20 million KRW range, but you can rent it for about 600,000 KRW per month.

Q. 600,000 KRW? That’s about 1/3 the monthly cost of a human worker based on minimum wage! It looks so small and cute—it seems perfect for weaving through tight spots. 😎

It’s about 30cm tall, so it moves below knee level, and about 40cm wide, which is plenty of space for food. This compact size allows it to move effectively in narrow spaces.

Because PC cafes are packed with seats and don't always have clear paths, this robot features differential drive for 360-degree rotation on the spot.

If its path is blocked by a chair someone pulled out, it can rotate 360 degrees, find a new path, and navigate out.

Q. Wow! That’s impressive. 👏 Does it require any special infrastructure to be installed?

Not at all. It can self-localize and navigate without separate facilities, which shortens the introduction time and significantly reduces costs. The estimated introduction period is only about 4 weeks, so it’s perfect for owners who want a quick setup. It’s also flexible enough to handle layout changes easily.

Q. Owners must be happy to hear that, especially since any downtime affects their livelihood. How do customers react?

At first, they find it a bit strange—and sometimes they don't hear the robot's notifications because they're wearing headphones! But they quickly warm up to its cute appearance. Since PC cafes have many regulars, they get used to it after a visit or two. 😊

Q. I’ve actually met one at my regular PC cafe! As a fellow "robot," I felt a strange sense of kinship. 🤣 Anything else you'd like to emphasize about FORMER?

FORMER is listed on Marosol’s Robot Store, so you can buy it directly. The price is currently set to "Inquiry Only" because it varies based on the specific PC cafe layout. If you send an inquiry, a robot expert will analyze your needs and help you purchase it without any extra information fees or commissions

Plus, we provide a 1-year warranty. The rental program is also a great way to save on initial investment. 😉

🐧: My dream is to become a PC cafe owner one day. When that happens, I’m definitely getting this robot!

🧑: Then I’ll have to stop by and play a game of StarCraft! haha.

If you want to break the stereotype that serving robots can't handle narrow spaces, and you're interested in the Mobile Robot FORMER, get a free consultation on the Marosol website right now! :)
