Project Overview

This implementation case features a large-scale circular raw material transport solution utilizing Omron AMR Logistics robots. Previously, raw material transport involved workers manually rolling large circular containers, which created issues with fatigue and efficiency, necessitating an automation solution. This project aimed to automate the movement of raw materials by introducing Omron AMR Logistics robots, thereby reducing worker burden and significantly improving operational efficiency.

Project Background & Objectives

When raw materials arrived in large containers, the manual transport process by workers involved high labor intensity and the risk of injury. Furthermore, productivity decreased due to time consumption and operational imbalances. The objective of this project is to implement an AMR-based automation solution to resolve these issues and achieve efficient logistics operations.

Components

Robot	Robot Omron AMR Logistics Robot: Maximized stability and efficiency by introducing an AMR robot suitable for transporting high-payload raw materials.

Workflow

STEP 1.	Incoming Raw Material Docking and Outbound Start: The AMR docks with the raw material and safely loads it into a U-shaped top module mechanism to begin transport.
STEP 2.	Speed Door Passage: The AMR passes through automatic doors naturally via system integration without separate manual operation.
STEP 3.	Inter-floor Movement via Elevator: The AMR performs inter-floor movement by integrating with the elevator system.
STEP 4.	Raw Material Drop-off at Destination: Safely deposits the raw material at the designated outbound location.

Features

Safety Evasion System: The Omron AMR Logistics robot is equipped with rear ultrasonic sensors, a front bumper, a safety laser scanner, and a low front laser sensor. These components enhance obstacle avoidance and driving safety.

Site-Specific AMR Top Modules and Stations: Designed to meet diverse on-site requirements by providing customized top modules and stations specifically for high-payload transport.
